With this e-mail we would like to draw your attention on the

                   SECOND HELMHOLTZ-INSTITUTE SUMMER-SCHOOL on
                "SCIENTIFIC SUPERCOMPUTING IN CLIMATE RESEARCH"
                        August 26 - September 20, 2002
                           University of Potsdam
                             Potsdam, Germany

The purpose of the summer school is to expose students and researchers from
the applied sciences and computational modeling communities to the use
of modern supercomputers in climate research.

There will be courses on various aspects of climate modeling and
contemporary numerical discretization techniques (computational fluid
dynamics). These will be supplemented by computational workshops and
tutorials.

LECTURERS: GUY PIERRE BRASSEUR (MPIM, HAMBURG)
              PETER HAYNES (DAMTP, CAMBRIDGE)
              JULIAN HUNT (UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, LONDON)
COLIN JONES (SWEDISH MET. & HYDRO. INSTITUTE)
              NIKOLAOS NIKIFORAKIS (DAMTP, CAMBRIDGE)
