WORKSHOP ON VERTICAL CRUSTAL MOTION AND SEA LEVEL CHANGE
               Toulouse, France,17 - 19 September 2002

The main focus of this meeting is the geodetic positioning of tide gauges
for the purpose of distinguishing between absolute and relative sea level
change, and for calibration and validation of space-based altimeters such
as TOPEX and JASON-1. See www.soest.hawaii.edu/cgps_tg for some background
information. This workshop will address the science requirements driving
the technical agenda, operational issues, data analysis, modeling, etc.

(Monday) just prior to the main meeting. This course is designed to provide
an introduction to tide gauges and continuous GPS stations for scientists
that are just entering the field.

Travel funds are available from IUGG and IOC to support some of the
attendees. First priority for these funds will be provided to scientists
based in developing countries. Applicants for travel funds should state
their interests and responsibilities at their home institutions.
