On behalf of the Scientific Committee and the Local Organizing Committee we hereby cordially invite you to participate in the workshop: Instrumentation and Metrology in Gravimetry - IMG-2002, organized by the European Center for Geodynamics and Seismology (ECGS) in cooperation with the "Bureau International de Poids et Mesures".

The workshop will bring together active researchers in many aspects of gravimetry.

20-30 minutes will be allocated for oral contributions.

Venue

 

The workshop will be held at the "Institut d’Europe" (Castle of Münsbach) in the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. The facilities at the Castle of Münsbach allow accommodations for a maximum 40 participants. Call for papers

 

The Workshop will include both oral and poster presentations, in addition to a few invited papers. Participants intending to present a paper are requested to send an abstract in English to pc@ecgs.lu

Working language is English.

Accepted abstracts will be published in an Abstract Booklet. Workshop proceedings will be published. All authors of accepted oral and poster contributions will be asked to submit a camera-ready copy of their paper for publication in the peer-reviewed "Cahiers of ECGS" (cf. http://www.ecgs.lu/(publications)).

 

 

Abstract Submission

 

Abstracts should stress objectives, results and conclusions. Headings should consist of TITLE: IN UPPER CASE, the author’s name(s), and affiliations and the telephone, fax and e-mail of the contact author (if not the first author).

Please submit your abstract preferable in electronic format either via the abstract submission form or by e-mail using plain text or MS-Word or WordPerfect.

Receipt of abstracts will be acknowledged by fax/mail.

Authors will be notified of acceptance of their contributions (poster, oral) by August 15, 2002.

The registration fee for participating in the Instrumentation and Metrology in Gravimetry Workshop is 50 Euro, payable directly upon arrival at the Munsbach Castle.

Proceedings and Typing Instructions

 

The Proceedings of the Conference will be published in the reviewed "Cahiers of ECGS". (cf. http://www.ecgs.lu (publications))

Accepted papers (including both oral and poster presentations) and those selected/submitted for publication will be reviewed according to the procedure defined in the bylaws of the ECGS statutes.

Formatting must adhere to the typing instructions and should be limited to a maximum of eight pages. Typing and formatting instructions are the same as those for International Association of Geodesy (IAG) Proceedings of Symposia.

In most cases, the short version/sample paper of the typing instructions will be sufficient (requires WinWord: 1551kB). A more extensive version of instructions is available in PDF format (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader: 38kB).(http://www.ecgs.lu)

Access to meeting site

 

 

For details regarding access to the Münsbach Castle (meeting venue) (by plane, car or train) please refer to the ECGS Web Page at http://www.ecgs.lu/ (Activities & Meetings).

 

Accommodation/Lodging facilities

 

The meeting will be held at the Institut d’Europe (Castle of Münsbach), which has the ability to accommodate 40 people directly at the meeting site. Only a few single rooms are available. Expect to share accommodations.

The room rates at the Castle of Münsbach are between approx. 40 Euro (shared rooms) and 45 Euro (single rooms) per night. These room charges include the cost of breakfast, lunch and dinner at the castle.

Options for off site accommodations are also available.

Münsbach is within 20 minutes from the main railway station of Luxembourg where hotels are available. The local organizing committee is able to assist in making hotel reservations for meeting participants. Participants not staying at the hotel will be charged ~25 € per day for breakfast, lunch and dinner taken at the castle.
