Date: Tue, 10 May 2005 17:21:06 +0200 Message transmis par Anne Lemaitre: --------------------------------------------------------- Dear Colleagues, We are very pleased to invite you to participate to the workshop THE ROTATION OF CELESTIAL BODIES organized in the University of Namur, Belgium, on December 1 and 2, 2005. This meeting will be organized in honor of Professor Jacques Henrard, at the occasion of his retirement. It is organized on two days, the first one is dedicated to the rotation of the planets, asteroids and cores, and the models of spin-orbit resonances; the invited speakers are Jacques Laskar, Véronique Dehant, Jean Souchay and Alessandra Celletti. This first day will be followed, in the evening, by a public conference for the city and the university (in french) : Mercure ou la revanche de la planète oubliée,given by Eric Bois. The second day will focuse on the rotation of Mercury and the future challenges of the space missions, with Stanton Peale and Andrea Milani already confirmed for the invited talks. The last session of the day will be a tribute to Jacques Henrard, with talks given by Sylvio Ferraz-Mello (to be confirmed), Alessandro Morbidelli and Anne Lemaitre. A free reception open to colleagues, friends and participants, will follow this session and close the meeting. (A poster session could be organized if too many talks were proposed). If you want to attend the meeting, please registrate before September 30, 2005.
