On behalf of the IGS Governing Board, we invite you to this week-long event that features a one-day Symposium on Wednesday March 3 and Technical Workshop Series March 1-2 and 4-5. The Symposium will recognize the unique history of the IGS as well as looking towards the future and what is on the horizon for international GNSS services in the next decade. The Technical Workshop Series will focus in detail on many critical issues, analysis results, network/communication aspects, data systems, and the various applications addressed by the Projects, Working Groups, and Coordinators of the IGS. There will be a few social events during the week to meet with friends old and new, and the beautiful city of Berne and the Alps can be explored in your leisure time or over one of the adjoining weekends. This event will be hosted by the Astronomical Institute of the University of Berne, Switzerland. In 1993, a pivotal meeting was held in Berne that laid the framework for the current organization of the IGS and so it seems very appropriate that Berne is once again graciously offering to host this special event. Many thanks to our Swiss colleagues. The first circular for the IGS Anniversary will be available in May listing the program committee, sessions, conveners, proceedings, and logistics, such as registration, housing and transportation. Watch for the website, which will be set up in the near future, and accessible from the IGS Calendar: (igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/overview/calendar.html). With best regards, and hoping to see you in Berne next March, IGS Central Bureau -- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ International GPS Service - Central Bureau NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory/Caltech tel: 818-354-2077 or 8330, fax: 818-393-6686 mobile: 626-975-1136 http://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
